PM Surya Ghar 2026: subsidy, loan and last date

Up to ₹78,000 subsidy, collateral-free loans and an extra Maharashtra SMART subsidy for small users. The scheme runs till March 2027.

How much subsidy

Homes get ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW: ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW and a maximum of ₹78,000 for 3 kW or more. Housing societies get ₹18,000 per kW for common areas, up to 500 kW.

Last date

The scheme is funded till FY 2026-27, that is March 2027. Installation, net metering and inspection must be complete for the subsidy to be paid, so start early.

Loans and GST

Banks give collateral-free loans of up to ₹2 lakh for systems up to 3 kW at about 5.75%. GST on solar systems is 5% since 22 September 2025, which lowers the price of every system.

Extra state subsidy (SMART)

Maharashtra’s SMART scheme adds state support for homes using under 100 units a month: ₹17,500 for BPL and ₹15,000 for SC/ST households on a 1 kW system.
