Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump
Maharashtra farmers pay only 10% of the pump cost (5% for SC/ST). 3, 5 or 7.5 HP by land size, with a 5-year repair guarantee and insurance.
PM-KUSUM
Central and state support for standalone solar pumps up to 7.5 HP and for solarising existing farm pumps.

Solar pump questions
How much does a farmer pay for a solar pump?
Under Maharashtra’s Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, general farmers pay 10% of the pump cost and SC/ST farmers pay 5%. The government pays the rest.
Which pump size will I get?
Up to 2.5 acres: 3 HP. From 2.5 to 5 acres: 5 HP. Above 5 acres: 7.5 HP.
How do I apply?
Applications for the scheme are made on the MSEDCL portal. We help you with the form and documents, and install private solar pumps where the scheme does not apply.
Will the pump run on cloudy days?
A solar pump runs on daylight, so output drops on heavy cloudy days and stops at night. Pumping in the daytime, a tank and drip irrigation make the most of it.
