Up to 100% support
Under the PM E-DRIVE charging guidelines (September 2025), government offices, residential colonies, hospitals and educational institutions that keep chargers open to the public can get up to 100% of the charger and upstream wiring cost.
80% for busy public places
Railway stations, airports, bus terminals, metro stations, municipal parking, oil-company fuel stations and toll plazas get 80% of upstream infrastructure cost and 70% of charger cost. Malls, markets and highway amenities get 80% of upstream cost.
Cheaper power for chargers
EV charging connections get a single-part tariff capped at the average cost of supply till March 2028, at 0.7× in solar hours (9 am – 4 pm). Solar and a battery lower the cost further.
Maharashtra support
The Maharashtra EV Policy 2025–30 (₹1,993 crore) supports public DC fast chargers and plans charging every 25 km on major highways. PM E-DRIVE runs till March 2028.
